About the project

Capestone is a master planned community on 300 hectares of land located in Mango Hill, 40 minutes north of Brisbane’s CBD.

The estate features a 13 hectare saline lake, town and business centre, open space network, a private school, a range of recreational facilities and in excess of 2000 homes.

The BMD Group was engaged on the Capestone project from 2003, through Urbex’s development team. Empower contributed to the project’s planning and civil design, JMac managed the landscaping, and BMD Constructions and BMD Urban delivered the construction and land development works. The project was successfully completed across 22 stages.

Scope

Empower was engaged from pre purchase (acquisition phase), and continued through master plan creation, infrastructure master planning, detailed design and documentation, infrastructure consultants' management, regulatory approvals, construction management and handover.

Outcomes

Empower played a key role in delivering a master planned community centered around a new railway station and a 2-hectare saltwater lake, transforming a challenging site with high acid sulphate soil potential into a highly desirable community asset. Through collaborative planning with the developer, consultant partners, and the contractor, Empower developed staged, constructable, and economically viable infrastructure solutions that enabled successful delivery of the lake and surrounding precinct.

This project highlights Empower’s ability to integrate with other BMD Group companies, leveraging expertise across design and construction to fast-track schedules and achieve a high-quality outcome, contributing to the creation of a vibrant, well-planned community.
