About the project
Network Rail, VolkerFitzpatrick, VolkerRail, Octavius and AtkinsRéalis, as part of the Southern Renewals Enterprise, is delivering the Southern Integrated Delivery portfolio for Network Rail’s Control Period 7 (2024–2029) and Control Period 8 (2029–2034).
This alliance model brings together four delivery partners and Network Rail’s Works Delivery team to form a performance-based enterprise responsible for delivering a programme of renewals across the Southern Region over the next 10 years.
Scope
Empower is providing project management services to the integrated project team. Our role includes design management, programme management, procurement strategy and supply chain engagement, consents and stakeholder management, constructibility and temporary works, environmental compliance and waterway interfaces.
Outcomes
Empower has provided resources with expertise in constructability, planning and commercial acumen who have integrated with SRE to develop economically viable or 'minimum viable product' solutions that were buildable.
Through this embedded and proactive approach, Empower has helped shape and mature the SRE development model—delivering tangible value in programme certainty, cost control, stakeholder confidence, and design readiness.
