About the project
Empower is providing Anglian Water with construction planning advice for the construction of the reservoirs, the transfer pipelines and the associated infrastructure.
Working closely with Anglian Water and other consultants, we are progressing towards preparation of a successful DCO Planning Application.
Scope
These will be some of the first major supply reservoirs to be built in the UK in over a generation requiring consideration of design, buildability, affordability and maintenance requirements. In addition to construction planning advice, we are drawing on significant experience from other major infrastructure projects to advise on:

Outcomes
The Fens Reservoir will supply 87 million litres a day to 250,000 homes in the driest region of the UK and is scheduled to be completed by 2036.
The Lincolnshire Reservoir will provide up to 166 million litres a day for up to 500,000 homes and is programmed to be completed by 2040.
