10 Dock Plymouth

Empower has supported multiple major defence infrastructure programmes at the Devonport Dockyard. These include the handover and commissioning of 15 Dock to enable the docking of the first Astute-class submarine at HMNB Devonport. We also refurbished the historic 14 Dock to ensure nuclear safety under extreme seismic events. In addition, Empower is delivering the 10 Dock project, which involved completing the largest QC1-grade safety concrete pour in a generation.

The ongoing 10 Dock project will deliver future submarine capability of the Royal Navy and the UK’s Defence Nuclear Enterprise at Devonport in Plymouth.

The contract for the delivery of infrastructure to support submarine maintenance includes the refitting of a historic dry dock, logistics and modern support facilities, and underpins the wider role of sustaining the entirety of the UK submarine fleet.

Empower has key personnel embedded in both the Tier 1 contractor and client teams, providing project management, quality assurance and engineering.

The Empower team is contributing real-world construction experience and health and safety expertise to the client team.
