Andrew Mason

With nearly four decades’ experience designing and managing delivery of nuclear and conventional production plants, including working across six nuclear licenced sites, Andy is a specialist in providing engineering and program management expertise for contractors, clients and manufacturing companies within the nuclear and conventional highly regulated engineering industries. Most recently, he has been the lead for Empower Advisory in supporting the Balfour Beatty bids for the Fissile and Non-Fissile packages of work at UK Derby – Raynesway, where the second nuclear reactor train is being built.

Andy held numerous senior roles at Rolls Royce including Manager – Projects & Facility Design, and Manager – Nuclear Fuel manufacture. In these roles, Andy oversaw multiple projects including design, build and commissioning of a nuclear chemical plant and ancillary fuel manufacture facilities, equipment design for continuing operation of a naval reactor fuel production. To all projects, Andy brings a deep knowledge of design of nuclear production plant and equipment, coupled with his track record of serving as Nuclear Safety Committee member on multiple projects.
